Autism Now - a PBS Newshour special report

I am at a loss for words! This is the closest thing to Ethan's 'style' of Autism I have ever seen. Listen particularly to his sister as she discusses her worries about her brother. LOVE HER!

  1. Thank you for posting this. I learn so me much as you share. I pray they will find a way to continue helping each autistic child and continue throughout their adult life as needed.

  2. I agree with Brianne. I learn so much from what you share. I found your blog by chance but am so glad I did. I have a nephew with autism and have been trying to learn more about it for years. I want to do more but I have not found a clear explaination of where to start or what I can do. Your blog has helped me learn more about it though. Thanks!

  3. I, too, noticed SO MUCH of Ethan in this young man!! The way he speaks, his demeanor, the memorized movie lines... But also his family reminds me of your family. :) You can tell that even though they're unsure about the future, they cherish him and their experiences.

Keep writing (or going through therapy)--whatever you want to call it, because it helps us too. The "wave" this family talked about is ready to crest and we need more answers soon!!

  4. Jeff- this was so informative! What I really liked about the video was that each family member seems to develop their own "language" in order to communicate. The dad's was with the athletics they did together, the sister's was with quoting movie lines and songs. I thought that was so interesting. You are so awesome to share all this!
